How to install VMware on Windows

This article covers VMware Workstation which is one of the best third-party tools to help in hardware virtualization which enables you run a separate operating system on an existing one. The system running this operating system is called the host and the system running inside the virtualization software is called the guest (think of it as a PC inside another PC).

  1. To install VMware, you need to download the latest version from here
  2. When you run the setup file, the following image will appear

3. Click Next to dismiss the Welcome dialog box

4. Choose type of installation (the default choice is “Typical”)

5. Choose the directory to install VMware Workstation

6. You can enable/disable VMware to check for updates on startup

7. Finally set where you want shortcuts to appear

8. Click Continue

9. Congratulations you have successfully install VMware
