Voltsure Ultima UPS (battery back up for your PC)

If you are like me and your professional and personal life revolves around a PC (specifically desktops), then you hate to lose all your work just because the power in your neighborhood goes out. I cover in this article how you can protect your PC from damage and save your work from being lost.

Before we dive in, I understand that there may be better products out there than the one featured in this article and you are welcome to share others that you found useful in the comments. However, I wanted to take a few minutes of your time to tell you how this particular product had saved my life (so to speak) more times than i can remember.

It is a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) device which protects computer systems or other devices that require a constant supply of electricity from being shut down abnormally when power fails which could possibly cause internal damage.

With this simple device you will be able to not only protect your work but also have one of two options

1) Continue using the device for a certain period of time while you wait for the power to come back
2) Hibernate or shutdown the device safely after saving your work if you suspect that the power outage will last for a long time.

Moreover, the Voltsure UPS comes with a device monitoring software called “Winpower”, which supports individual computer and computers connected across a network (including LAN & WAN).

Users can monitor and configure the device from any computer in the LAN network and set the device to send a signal to automatically shut down or hibernate which is great for unattended protection.

The software is compatible on a range of operating system Windows 98 to Windows 7, Linux, Mac OS X, etc..
